If you travel to North America and don't indulge in a number of chicken (or buffalo) wings, then, well... what was the point of visiting the continent. This is a theory shared by my good friend Harvey, although our views differ when it comes to the condiment that should accompany this delicacy. I believe that ranch dressing is for the layman, and that it has been surpassed by the far tastier blue cheese sauce, however Harvey considers the latter a "Johnny Come Lately" condiment. Wikipedia (my internet bible) states that... "chicken wings are typically served with blue cheese sauce, and some restaurants serve their wings with ranch dressing as an alternative to blue cheese". I am sure that ranch dressing is only served nowadays to appease the simple man.
Following the predictable result of a recent bet (that Hawthorn would defeat Collingwood), Harvey was required to purchase a bottle of blue cheese sauce for me, and here are the pictures of the event...

Now, I can douse my wings in blue cheese sauce without fear of running out... life is good.

An excellent inaugural post MSD. Interestingly, my research on the topic has revealed that it is in fact ranch dressing that is the "Johnny Come Lately". Refer to the following link (last paragraph in particular):

This revelation has left me shaken and confused. I still maintain that ranch dressing is the best tasting condiment on the market to accompany buffalo wings or a green salad. I must however dig deep within myself and decide whether the short term pleasure of my taste buds outweighs the long-term ignominy of being a "Johnny Come Lately". JCL's are humanity's garbage.
On balance, it would appear likely that I will be dunking my 30c buffalo wings in blue cheese sauce at Darby's tonight.
Mate, what an inaugural post!!
Brilliant photos and story.
I lament the changing of the Safeway logo. I grew up with Safeway around the corner on Donny Road.
Harvey's face at the exchange had/ still has me in stitches.
Keep up the good work.
